VSPAC offers a wide ranging curriculum which can satisfy the interests of any dance student of any age.  We cover every aspect of dance education from the classics to the most modern trends.

Mommy & Me - 20 to 36 months
A fun and creative approach to learning the basics of ballet and tap. Ages 2-3 accompanied  by a parent or caregiver. These Classes are one hour in length and consist of a half hour of Ballet and a half hour of Tap.

Ballet
A classical dance form demanding grace and precision and employing formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement.

Tap
A dance performed wearing shoes fitted with metal taps, characterized by rhythmical tapping of the toes and heels.

Contemporary

The movement involves the ease of movement using the body’s natural lines and energy, allowing a greater range and fluidity of movement than conventional dance techniques.  It is very versatile since it can be danced to almost any style of music, or united with other dance forms to create new styles of movement.  Contemporary Dance seeks to work with the natural alignment of the body and is therefore safe and accessible for beginners.

Jazz

The often upbeat dance style that has evolved using elements of ballet and modern influenced by rhythms and techniques of jazz music. Each class includes floor work and stretching as well as turns and jumps.

Lyrical

Students learn to express the lyrics and meaning of a piece of music through body movement as well as heart feelings through modern/jazz/ballet/contemporary movement.

Pointe

Is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes. Instruction in dancing on Pointe in the setting of a formal ballet class. Previous background in ballet training required. Dedicated and serious students only.
