VSPAC | MICHELA ARLIA

Michela Arlia first stepped foot into VSPAC when she was 3 years old. Michela has always called VSPAC her second home, where she has spent countless late nights and weekends dancing, laughing, and doing what she loves most. Michela was part of the first Petite competition team with VSPAC, has competed on multiple competition teams and has performed in the annual VSDC performance of The Nutcracker.  She has trained in many styles of dance including Ballet, Tap, Pointe, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical and Jazz. Under the direction of Vicky Simegiatos, Matina Simegiatos, Despina Simegiatos as well as many other VSPAC teachers, she has learned so many lessons here that have carried her beyond the studio.  She has performed in various local musicals and plays including The Sound of Music, Legally Blonde, and Hello Dolly!.  She was also a principal dancer in her high school performances of West Side Story, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and South Pacific where she was also choreographer and co-choreographer.

Her love for the arts has allowed her to work with Inside Broadway, Citizens Committee for New York City, to dance with Covenant Ballet and the Matthew Westerby Company, and has sung the National Anthem at various events at Madison Square Garden for the NY Liberty, The Barclays Center, and Maimonides Park. She is now attending Brooklyn College where she is double majoring in Theater and Psychology with a focus in child and developmental psychology. She has always called VSPAC her dance home and has been a part of their staff since 2019 where she has assisted and taught many classes across all styles of dance.
